It's Saturday morning and it's very, very hot - perhaps 40 degrees! I went walking at Morialta Park this morning, with a friend, and I came home with a face as red as a beetroot.
Nevertheless it was a very rewarding experience as we saw and heard a flock of kookaburras singing (laughing) above us in the trees. As that wasn't enough, we then saw a flock of lorikeets( a type of galah) coming right down close to drink fom a hollow. I wish that I had had a camera!

I was very excited after Tuesday blog session. Most people in Geap 2 posted comments on other classmates blogs. They are all interesting but it was particularly interesting to see Abdo's photos, especially the one of him in traditional dress, and the one of Mecca. It's a pity that he has lost his password so he may not be able to continue on that blog. Check it out anyway - abdolegacy.blogspot.com

It's good to be on holidays! I've been sleeping in, catching up on jobs that had to be done around the house, reading novels and generally having a lazy time. Hope everyone else is enjoying their holiday in their own unique way.
I want to congratulate Lynda and all of Geap A on their great work in creating your wetpaint site - a first for the English Language Centre! Hope all of the students make use of it.

Last week our Geap 2 class created their blog sites and published their first blogs. I hope they begin to enjoy posting on their blogs just as much as some of the students in Geap A seem to. Yui told me that she already has a blog site in Japan.
I must thank Andy for helping me to link all of the sites on mine.
It's Saturday and this morning I went walking at Morialta with Kathy, one of the other teachers. We live near each other and quite close to the park. We drive there, park on the roadway near the old Seminary and then walk to the first falls and back again. It was pleasant because the weather is quite cool today( much better than yesterday). We tried to keep up the pace, as they say that it is of no health benefit. if you do not walk quickly.

I am not too successful! I will now try to attached the photo that I mentioned in the last posting --that was taken just out of Hawker. If it doesn't work --I'm giving up for tonight.
The photo in the previous posting was taken just outside of Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges. This was taken from a lookout just near Hawker, which is about an hours drive from Wilpena Pound. As you can see, there is spectacular scenery everywhere in the Flinders. I still haven't worked out how to put several photos at once.

I am just curious to see whether I am successful in posting a photo. Here goes -

Hi, this is my first official blog, and as luck would have it, my computer is working at snail's pace. This is extremely frustrating, especially when I am trying to download some photos from my recent trip to the Flinders Ranges. If I'm unsuccessful, I'll try again on a later posting.
Recently Lynda told be about your blogs and how to read them. The catch is that if I wished to make any comments, I had to join too! So it's a new experience for me as well as all of you.
Well, I'm off to see Madama Butterfly myself tonight. I know about the plot now, therefore I'll just concentrate on enjoying the music.
